Desktop Clock with Geektool

UPDATE: August 2009: Geektool 3rc4 is out, get this clock command as a geeklet.

Saw Walkah’s post about using geektool to make a world clock and whilst I didn’t need different timezones the idea of having a clock on the desktop struck me as handy.

It would let me remove the OSX menu bar clock and thus free up some space, and I could hit F11 to reveal the date and time when needed.

I ended up with this command in geektool:

date "+%k:%M on %a, %e %b"
Which reminds me I really must get around to blogging about my other geektool widgets…
